Ta` Mena Estate – August 11, 2017
On Friday, August 11, 2017, the curtains officially came down on season 16/17 for the Ghajnsielem Redcoats with the end-of-season dinner. Although many of the programmes stopped in May and June, the youth softball team continued to practice through until August, finishing up with the joint training camp in Prague. Czech Republic.
The End-of-season Dinner at Ta’ Mena Estate turned out to be a very pleasant evening for the 120 people in attendance. The bingo and the spot prizes brought a lot of cheers to the winners, however, it was the 50/50 game which was the biggest attraction for those in attendance. The evening concluded with the presentation of the participation certificates to the boys and girls. A team photo was given to the players who travelled to Italy to participate in the XXVI Memorial Federico Zuttion International Baseball Tournament. Medals and the winners’ trophy was also presented to the members of the U13 team who were crowned National Champions by winning the player-pitch Youth Baseball Major League organised by the Malta Baseball & Softball Association.
Thanks goes to those who made this evening possible including the members of the Executive Committee, as well as to Jacqueline Grech who organised the bingo. There were also many sponsors who supplied the spot prizes.
The Redcoats will now focus on the preparations for the start of the 2017/18 season.
