RECAP

A slippery and wet Sannat Ground contributed to make life difficult for the Ghajnsielem Redcoats in the top of the 1st inning as pitcher Marlene Saliba had problems with her control walking four batters in a 4-run inning for the Mellieha Curves. The Redcoats quickly came back scoring 3 runs of their own in the bottom of the first. Consecutive base hits for Michelle Grima, Kacey Grima and Marlene Saliba loaded the bases for Nancy Portelli to come up and clear them with a 2 run base hit with the third run scoring following a throwing error by the Curves at home plate. That was all the scoring that the Redcoats managed as all they did was scatter a couple of hits the rest of the game. The Curves padded their lead with a further 2 runs scored in the top of the 6th inning for a 3-6 final score in favour of the Curves.
