The efforts of the Ghajnsielem Redcoats to raise awareness about gender equality in sports are not limited to the shores of our tiny island. Earlier this month IGETS travelled to Castions Delle Mura in Northern Italy to explain what the Erasmus+ Sports Small Collaborative Partnership project Inclusion & Gender Equality Through Softball is all about to the participants of international baseball & softball tournaments.
The IGETS banner was put up at the field where most of the softball games where played. The Redcoats U12 baseball team also played two games at that field. Meetings were also held with various club officials who were participating in the baseball or softball tournaments over that weekend providing information about IGETS as well as on Erasmus+ Sports. The objective of the club was to give publicity to the project, increase awareness about gender equality in sports, and to provide information about the accessibility of EU programmes especially the Erasmus+ Sports: Small Collaborative Partnerships.
Next stop for IGETS is Prague, the Czech Republic, as it will now travel with the softball team of the club for a joint training camp with SK Joudrs Praha.
