During Awards Night 2013, held at the Dolmen Hotel on August 10, 2013, the Malta Baseball and Softball Association presented an award to Joseph Scicluna, founder of the Ghajnsielem Redcoats, in recognition for his efforts to promote the game in Gozo.

In recognition for the outstanding achievement in promoting baseball & softball in Malta and in particular the growth of the game in Gozo.

Everyone associated with the Redcoats, youth and senior players, coaches, parents, sponsors, and especially the Ghajnsielem Local Council deserve a share in this award for their efforts to ensure that the first season of the Redcoats was a successful one.

During the event Joseph Scicluna presented MABS President, Mr Mario Debono, with a copy of the Ghajnsielem Redcoats 1st Annual 2012/13 written by Loreto Scicluna.
