REDCOATS SOFTBALL GO TOP

Cover 3

The softball program of the Redcoats is gradually being steered in the right direction thanks to the efforts of head coach Tahli Moore

On Sunday the two women’s teams of the club faced each other for the second time this season and produced a very competitive game. This was the fourth game for both teams in the MABS Women’s Fastpitch Softball Tournament. The Ghajnsielem Redcoats are much better than their 0-and-3 record indicates. On the other hand, Redcoats Softball have struggled at the plate only managing a few hits per game.

The much anticipated game was decided in the first two innings as Redcoats Softball stormed to take a nine run lead. Ghajnsielem Redcoats did manage to score three runs in the 3rd inning and another run in the 4th inning while shutting out their opponents to make for a close finish but Redcoats Softball managed to hang on to win 9-4.

With that victory Redcoats Softball top the standing with a 3-and-1 record. For them to stand a chance of winning the tournament they have to win the remaining two games. Next Sunday they will face the Luxol Mustangs in Marsa and the following Sunday they will host the Mellieha Curves at the Sannat Ground. Ghajnsielem Redcoats will play the Luxol Mustangs in two weeks time and the Mellieha Curves on December 13. Both their remaining games are in Gozo.

The softball program of the Ghajnsielem Redcoats is gradually being steered in the right direction thanks to the efforts of head coach Tahli Moore. Although the work has only just begun there is already evidence which indicates that those committed to the cause are playing with more confidence and are improving their fundamental skills. This season could be a major turning point for the club and its softball players, as should the youth players show the commitment which is necessary for them to improve they would have  a great opportunity to become outstanding softball players.
