Last Wednesday, May 23, the Ghajnsielem Redcoats held the final session of the Active Start -Young Multisport Athletes programme. This is a highly successful and very popular programme which this year reached new highs with 28 boys and girls aged 4 to 6 enrolled in it. This season there was the highest attendance since the Active Start was introduced in October 2014 with an average of 20 participants attending the weekly sessions.

Coaches Robert Said, Marlene Saliba, Joseph Scicluna, Mickayla Mizzi and Maria Theresa Camilleri conducted the sessions. Fun games which featured sports such as athletics, rugby, football, softball, baseball, basketball, volleyball and even bocci were played during the course of the season. The sessions were held every Wednesday at the Ghajnsielem Primary School.

During the final session, certificates of participation were given to all the participants by the programme coordinator, Joseph Scicluna. The sessions will re-start during the second week of October. The Redcoats would like to thank the five coaches for their dedication, the young participants for their behaviour, and the parents for entrusting their children to the club and for their continuous support.
